Judges' Award Winners | Highland & Island Food & Drink Awards

HI AYE!! Wow, what a weekend we’ve had - just incredible! First off, a massive thank you for all the kind messages since we won the Judges' Award at the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards. We’re truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support!

Let us take you on a little adventure behind the scenes of our trip to Inverness for the awards. Magnus, Paige, and I flew down from Shetland on Friday, heading to the Kingsmills Hotel where the ceremony was held. It was such a treat to get dressed up for the night; between life in the keetchen, netball games and family life, we rarely get the chance to put on our glad rags.

The awards ceremony was a fantastic experience; as always, such great company and delicious food! We were nominated for three awards: Young Ambassador of the Year, Best Marketing, and Judges' Award. The level of talent among Highlands and Islands businesses is truly inspiring, we're so honoured to have been named finalist in these categories. We'd like to say a huge congratulations to the winners in our categories - Great Glen Charcuterie and Mieles Gelato - so well deserved! If you saw my peerie video on Facebook, you’ll know we absolutely did not expect to win an award, never mind the Judges' Award. I honestly thought Magnus was going to fall off his chair in shock! Being presented the award by the amazing Marian Armitage, chair of the Taste of Shetland made it even more special - thank you, Marian.

This award means the world to us, especially in challenging times. Costs are climbing, from ingredients to fuel bills, and we’ve been working incredibly hard this past year to adapt, without sacrificing on quality. So much of our progress has been down to the overwhelming support of our amazing customers, many who've found us through social media.

We often remind folks that we really are a peerie business, making all our treats from just four pans in our tiny keetchen in Lerwick. The juggling act is real, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Lastly, we couldn’t share this update without a heartfelt thank you to our incredible team. They’re at the heart of it all, making everything happen behind the scenes, so from the bottom of wir hearts, THANK YOU!!

As we hurtle towards Christmas, we wanted to remind you that we maak everything by hand in those 4 pans, so early orders are always so appreciated so we can manage wir stock levels.

Thank you, thank you. We loff you guys, Nicola xxx
